In line with the Government's decision, VAS Valsts nekustamie īpašumi has lounched the final stage of the building the infrastructure required to safeguard Latvia's external land border.

The project covers approximately 41 km along the border between the Republic of Latvia and the Russian Federation, including areas that are particularly wet and difficult to access.

Three construction companies are involved in the project, including VAS Latvijas autoceļu uzturētājs, which has signed two contracts for infrastructure construction spanning roughly 14 km.

During the course of the works:

  • patrol paths will be constructed in areas with complex terrain and wetlands;
  • design and construction activities will be carried out to ensure that the State Border Guard can fully perform its functions.

💬 Raitis Šteinbergs, Head of Commercial Project Management Department, VAS Latvijas autoceļu uzturētājs:
“We are pleased to continue contributing to national border infrastructure development projects. Work along the border is never simple — this time the sites also include terrain that is both challenging and wet. I am confident that our previous experience will support the successful implementation of these tasks.”

The expertise and accumulated experience of VAS Latvijas autoceļu uzturētājs in infrastructure construction ensure that the works will be completed to a high standard and in full compliance with safety requirements.
